XAT 2022 result was declared on January 17 and the admission cut offs were released on January 30. The XAT cut offs for XLRI admissions 2022 is in the range of 87 to 93 percentile for PGDM Business Management (BM) and PGDM Human Resource Management (HRM) programmes.

XAT 2022 exam was held on January 2, 2022 in online mode at multiple exam centres in 72 cities from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. As per the XAT exam analysis 2022, the question paper was of easy to moderate difficulty level. The Essay Writing section has been re-introduced this year and extra 10 minutes were given for it. However, the essay will be evaluated after the candidate will be shortlisted for personal interview.  

What is XAT Exam?

XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test) is a national-level management entrance examination conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur for admission to MBA/PGDM programmes. Apart from XLRI and 10 other XAMI member colleges, over 1,000 B-schools accept XAT scores for admission to their post-graduate management programmes. The XAT question paper consists of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) from Decision Making, Verbal & Logical Ability, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation and General Knowledge. XAT exam is conducted on the first Sunday of every January. XAT cut offs for XLRI's PGDM-BM programme are usually around 95 percentile for male candidates and 92 percentile for female candidates.

XLRI Selection Process Through XAT 2022

XLRI, Jamshedpur admission through XAT includes three stages: shortlisting of candidates, group discussion & personal interview and final selection.

Step 1: Shortlisting of candidates

The candidates will be shortlisted for group discussion and personal interview round of XLRI, Jamshedpur on the basis of their XAT 2022 score.  

Step 2: Group Discussion and Personal Interview

XLRI, Jamshedpur will announce group discussion and personal interview schedule in soon for selected candidates. The admission round will be held in various cities and the candidates will have to confirm their interview city online on the official website of XLRI within the stipulated time limit.

Step 3: Final Selection

Each candidate will be evaluated on the basis of their XAT 2022 score, GD/PI performance, academic history and other parameters for preparing the final merit list. Selected candidates will be called to complete the admission formalities.

XAT 2022 Answer Key

XAT answer key was released in the form of response sheet on January 3, 2022. The updated or final answer key was released on January 11, 2022. Candidates can download their XAT 2022 response sheets and answer key from the exam website by using their login ID and password. If any candidate felt that any of the official XAT 2022 answer keys was incorrect they could raise an objection by sending an email to the exam authorities.

XAT 2022 Exam Analysis and Student Reactions

XAT 2022 exam was of easy to moderate difficulty level. Among all the sections, QA-DI was tougher than the rest. Verbal and Decision Making sections were easy to moderate but GK was tough. The Essay Writing section had two topics - one on management and one on economy. Candidates had to write about 250 words on one of the two topics in 10 minutes. XAT Syllabus

XAT syllabus consists of all the important topics of Verbal & Logical Ability, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation and General Knowledge. Decision Making is a unique section for which there is no syllabus. Preparation for it is based on previous years questions. Rest of the three subjects include important topics of their own area. Verbal & Logical Ability includes Reading Comprehension, English Grammar, Verbal Ability. In the Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, the topics include Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Set Theory, etc. And in the GK section the topics pertain to politics, culture, society, personalities, business, art & entertainment, sports, inventions, innovation, world, economy, science, technology, books, etc.

XAT Exam Pattern and Test Structure

XAT exam is conducted in online mode and the question paper consists of 100 MCQs to be solved in 180 minutes. However, the XAT 2022 exam pattern has been revised. Essay Writing has been reintorduced and the time duration has been increased by 10 minutes. There is sectional time-limit in XAT. Thus, candidates are advised to maintain adequate speed in all four sections so that they can solve the paper within the time-limit. XAT 2022 preparation should ideally be for six to nine months. Being one of the tougher MBA entrance exams among its peers, XAT requires dedicated time and effort. It comprises four sections: Decision Making, Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation and General Knowledge.

In XAT, it is important to pay equal attention to all four sections as sectional cut offs play an important role in selection to XLRI, Jamshedpur. So, divide your study hours among these sections equally. Start with gaining conceptual clarity in each subject. You may want to first analyse the topics you are familiar with. Make a list of your strengths and weaknesses; then begin with strong areas. This will give you confidence in dealing with tough topics. XAT Registration Process 2022

XAT registrations process is the first step to appear for the exam. Aspirants have to fill the online XAT application form and pay requisite fees to register for the test. XAT 2022 registration and application process is given below in brief:

  • Log on to XAT 2022 website xatonline.in
  • Click on 'New Registration' and enter relevant details
  • A unique XAT ID and registration link is shared with the candidate on the verified email ID

  • Click on the link to verify your registration

  • Go to XAT 2022 homepage and click on ‘login’

  • Enter email ID and password to open the application form

  • Fill all the mandatory fields of the XAT 2022 application form

XAT Eligibility Criteria 2022

To be able to appear for the exam, it is mandatory to fulfill the XAT eligibility criteria given below:

  • Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration or equivalent in any discipline from a recognised university

  • Students in their final year of bachelor's degree or awaiting their results are also eligible to apply

  • There is no minimum marks criteria for XAT exam

XAT 2022 Admit Card

XAT 2022 admit card download process was postponed from December 22 to December 24, 2021.  The admit cards were released on the official website and candidates could download their respective XAT admit cards by using login ID and password. Check below the steps to download XAT 2022 admit card which is a mandatory document to be carried to the exam hall: 

  • Visit the official website of XAT 2022

  • Click on 'Download admit card' tab 

  • Enter details like XAT User ID and date of birth and click on 'login'

XAT Exam Day Guidelines

XAT aspirants must follow the guidelines set by the examination authority for a hassle-free exam day. Given below are some key XAT exam day guidelines, candidates must follow:

  • Reach the exam centre an hour before the reporting time
  • Do not carry any electronic item like mobile phone, watch, calculator, etc. to the exam centre

Q: What is the XAT 2022 exam date?

If you are a fresher, then I would recommend getting any job or giving entrances like CAT XAT MAT SNAP etc. This year. If you want colleges only in Bangalore city, try giving MAT. It is generally scheduled 4 times a year. So you can definitely give it a shot. Any student with a valid scorecard at the time of application with a credible score XAT CAT CMAT MAT ATMA GMAT can apply to the PGDM or PGDM BA Programmes. The cut of the score is not disclosed by the campus.
