NEET PG 2022 exam will be held on May 21, as per the revised dates announced by NBE. Earlier the Centre decided to postpone the exam date by 6-8 weeks. The exam was scheduled to be held on March 12. As per the revised schedule, candidates can submit NEET PG 2022 application form till March 25.  As per the original NEET PG 2022 schedule, February 4 was the last date to to submit NEET PG 2022 application form. NEET PG 2022 registration had started on January 15.

Candidates will have to register online to apply for the exam. Online registration is mandatory to access NEET PG 2022 application form. Those who apply successfully for the exam in the given deadline will be issued admit card. Candidates will have to download NEET PG 2022 admit card by logging to their accounts. According to NEET PG 2022 dates, the admit card will be issued on May 16.

NBE has extended internship cutoff date to July 31. The earlier deadline to complete internship to appear for entrance test was May 31. Students had filed a petition in the Supreme Court, urging it to extend the internship deadline as some of the candidates may not have completed the internship due to COVID-19. On February 8, the court had refused to interfere in the internship plea, terming it a policy matter. SC asked students to make representation before the Centre for internship demand.

What is NEET PG 2022?

NEET PG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post-Graduation), is conducted for providing admission to various MD (Doctor of Medicine)/ MS (Master of Surgery) and PG Diploma courses across the country. The National Board of Examinations (NBE) conducts the exam once a year in computer-based mode. The scores are also used for taking admission to postgraduate MBBS DNB courses. NEET PG 2022 Application Process

NEET PG 2022 application process invloves steps such as registration, filling up details in application form, paying exam fee, and uploading documents. The application process starts with registration. Only those candidates who register themselves on the official website of NBE, will be able to submit application form for NEET PG 2022. Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. A login ID and password will be generated after successful NEET PG registration process. NBE will release NEET PG application form 2022 on January 15, 3 pm onwards. To complete the application process, candidates will have to upload scanned copies of photographs and signatures. They have to pay a non-refundable application fee to complete NEET PG applications 2022.

NEET PG 2022 Eligibility Criteria 

Candidates who wish to apply for the exam or who wish to participate in the counselling process must check the eligibility criteria before applying for it. NBE releases NEET PG eligiblity criteria along with the information brochure. NEET PG eligibility criteria have been summarised below:

  • Aspirants must possess an MBBS degree/provisional Pass Certificate which is recognised as per the provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 
  • They should also possess a permanent/ provisional registration certificate of MBBS qualification issued by the Medical Council of India or State Medical Council
  • They must have completed the duration of their internship on or before July 31, 2022

NBE has release the tentative list of NEET PG 2022 exam cities. The exam will be held at 256 NEET PG 2022 exam cities.  Candidates will find the name and address of exam city in the admit card.

NEET PG 2022 Syllabus

TNEET PG 2022 syllabus is based on the curriculum taught during the MBBS. The syllabus includes key topics of the three sections of the question paper, section A (clinical), Section B (pre-clinical), and Section C (para-clinical) subjects. These three sections contain questions from the topics such as Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Forensic medicine, and Social and Preventive medicine.

NEET PG 2022 Pattern

Candidates need to know NEET PG 2022 exam pattern as it helps candidates in preparation. The exam pattern for NEET PG 2022 comprises details about the test paper, comprising the mode, medium, number of the question paper, duration of time, and the marking scheme. NEET PG 2022 will be held in online mode. The question paper will have 200 multiple choice questions, and candidates will be given 3.5 hours to answer them. There will be a provision of the negative marking in the exam. For every correct answer, candidates will be awarded 4 marks and for an incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted. 

NEET PG 2022 Mock Test

NBE releases NEET PG mock test on its official website. The NEET PG mock test is one of the crucial aspects of preparation strategy to score well in the exam. After finishing NEET PG 2022 syllabus, candidates must practice mock test to take stock of their preparation. Solving mock test of NEET PG exam makes candidates learn about NEET PG pattern and type of questions asked in the exam. They get to know what more needs to be done to improve score in a particular topic.

Candidates have to login to the official website of NBE to access the NEET PG mock test. After login, they have to click the NEET PG link on the home page which will lead them to NEET mock test page. Candidates are advised to read the whole instructions carefully before starting the mock test online. Solve mock test and weigh your performance to recalibrate your strategy.

NEET PG 2022 Admit Card

The NEET PG 2022 admit card will be released online. NBE issue admit card to candidates who register successfully for the exam. Candidates will have to download NEET PG admit card 2022 from the official website. Candidates are advised to check all the information carefully after downloading the hall ticket from the official website of NBE. Candidates must print a copy of the admit card and affix a latest passport size photograph on it. The admit card should be preserved until the admission process gets over. Specifications of the photograph are as under:

Photograph specification:

  • A photograph of a minimum of 35 mm x 45 mm with at least 75 per cent coverage of the face & head of the candidate
  • A caption with the name of the aspirant along with the date of taking photograph at the bottom of the photo
  • The photograph should have been taken in a white /very light-coloured background
  • The photograph needs to be printed on high-quality paper with at least 600 dpi resolutions
  • The colours must possess the natural appearance and skin tone
  • The photograph must not have kinks, scratches, and stains
  • Photograph with reflection or shadow on the face with red eyes should be avoided

NEET PG 2021 Exam Day Guidelines

  • The exam timing is 9 am to 12 pm. Entry will close at 8:30 am.
  • Candidates are advised to reach the exam centre at least an hour prior to the examination.
  • It is mandatory for all the candidates to go through the security procedures.
  • Electronics such as calculators, smartwatch, pagers, etc. are prohibited in the exam hall.
  • Candidates are advised not to carry bags, books, pens, pencil boxes, writing pad, etc. to the exam centre.
  • These items are banned inside the examination hall and the centre does not have provisions for their safe-keeping.

NEET PG Exam Analysis

NEET PG 2022 Question Paper

For aspirants, NEET PG question paper is very important resource to scale up the overall preparation. Candidates aim to solve as many as NEET PG question paper to get the insight into the exam. Solving question paper and analysing the performance make them understand their weak and strong areas. Candidates also come to know where they exactly lacks and what more needs to be done overall. But the sad part is NBE doesn't release the official question paper for NEET PG exam as it wants to keep the content confidential. Candidates are bound by non-disclosure agreement not to reveal the content in public. However, candidates can get momory-based NEET PG question paper from coaching institute and other unofficial sources.

NEET PG 2022 Answer Key

NEET PG answer key comprises correct answers of questions asked in the exam. The answer key helps candidates to predict their tentative score in the exam. Alike question paper, NBE doesn't provide official answer key too. However, some coaching institutes will release unofficial answer key just after the exam. NEET PG 2022 answer key will be prepared on the basis of memory of exam takers. With the answer key in hand, candidates can calculate the total number of correct and incorrect responses for NEET PG 2022 exam. 

NEET PG 2022 Result

The NEET PG 2022 result will be released by NBE on its official website. The result will be uploaded in PDF format. Candidates who qualify for the exam will be able to download their scorecard/rank card by logging into their registered account. Candidates are advised to save the copy of the result in hardcopy for reference purposes during the counselling process. NBE has not released the official date for NEET PG result 2022 announcement. Candidates must note that the result will be valid for that particular academic session only. 

NEET PG 2022 Cut Off

NEET PG 2022 cutoff, the minimum qualifying percentile will be released by NBE. The minimum qualifying percentile for general candidates is 50th, while for SC/ST/OBC, it is 40th percentile. Various factors decide the NEET PG cutoff 2022 including the number of candidates who appeared for the exam, availability of total seats, difficulty level of NEET PG and others. Candidates have to secure the minimum qualifying percentile to become eligible to participate in NEET PG counselling 2022 for admission to MD / MS / PG Diploma programmes. NEET PG 2022 Merit List

On the basis of the result, NBE will prepare a NEET PG 2022 merit list. According to which seat allotment process will take place or seat allotment will be done. The higher the position in the merit list better the college candidate will be allotted. NBE will prepare the merit list on the basis of various criteria. Below are the four criteria upon which merit list will be prepared:

  • All India rank in the exam

  • All India 50 per cent quota rank

  • All India 50 per cent category rank

  • State quota or private medical colleges/ AFMS Rank 

NEET PG 2022 Counselling

Admissions to the MD/MS/DNB course will be finalised on the basis of the counselling. The body responsible for conducting NEET 2022 counselling is the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). MCC will conduct NEET PG 2022 seat allotment for 50 per cent AIQ, Deemed/Central Universities, ESIC/AFMS institutes. Respective state counselling authority will hold the counselling session for the rest of the 50 per cent seats. MCC will announce NEET PG counselling 2022 schedule on its official website, The process of NEET PG 2022 counselling involves registration, choice declaration, release of seat allotment list, and reporting to the allotted institute. 

Online Registration for Counselling 

Aspirants are required to register themselves on the official website of MCC and fill the application form to participate in the NEET PG 2021 counselling. Only those candidates who will register on the official website of MCC will be able to participate in the NEET 2022 counselling. The application/registration process for counselling involves the following steps:

  • Creating a profile on the official website of MCC

  • Completing the application form of NEET PG 2021 counselling 

  • Uploading the required documents

  • Depositing the application fee for counselling (credit card/ debit card/ net banking)

  • Choice filling and locking

  • Printing a copy of the duly filled application form

NEET PG Reservation: The Revised Criteria

The Centre had approved 27 and 10 per cent NEET PG reservations for OBC and EWS candidates respectively in 50 per cent All India Quota seats from 2021-22 academic session. Candidates who belong to the OBC category (non-creamy layer) as per the Central OBC list, will compete for 50 per cent seats in government medical and dental colleges across the country via AIQ. Candidates don't need the domicile of any particular state for admission to 50 per cent AIQ seats. Similarly, those who belong to EWS (Economic Weaker Section) will be eligible for 10 per cent quota in NEET PG admission. Candidates of both categories need to produce the relevant documents at the time of admission. For candidates of SC and ST categories, there is already a reservation of 15 and 7.5 per cent respectively in NEET PG admission.

A. Yes, with the implementation of the NMC Act, the exam will be replaced by the National Exit Test. But it is expected to be implemented from the academic year 2022-23. Till then, the admission to MD/MS courses will continue to be via NEET PG.

If you are a general Student it will be a tough call but as you've said in non-clinical department, You can get a seat in paramedical courses as well as in nursing courses you might have a chance of getting a seat.
