IIT JEE Advanced 2022 eligibility criteria have been relaxed for candidates who registered successfully for the IIT entrance in 2020 or 2021 but couldn't appear for it. Such students need to fulfil certain eligibility conditions to appear for the exam this year. Check the detailed eligibility conditions

Aspirants can pursue Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s or Dual Degree programs in Engineering and Pharmaceutics, Sciences or Architecture in any of the 23 IITs after qualifying for the JEE Advanced. The exam is also likely to be conducted outside India in 2022 again. One of the major eligibility conditions for students to appear for JEE Advanced is to be among the top 2.5 lakh qualified candidates of JEE Main.

What is JEE Advanced?

JEE Advanced is conducted every year by one of the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) namely IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, and IIT Roorkee or Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, under the aegis of the Joint Admission Board (JAB). Admissions to Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s and Dual Degree programmes (entry at the 10+2 level) in all the 23 IITs, including the Indian School of Mines (ISM), are done on the basis of ranks obtained by candidates in IIT JEE Advanced.

Through JEE Advanced, candidates can secure admissions to the following courses:

  • 4-year Bachelors - BTech, BS
  • 5-year BArch
  • 5-year Dual Degree - BTech, MTech, BS, MS
  • 5-year Integrated Masters - MTech, MSc, Dual Degree

Latest Updates:

The  IIT JEE Advanced 2022 will have two papers in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. Paper-1 will be conducted from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm while paper-2 will be was conducted from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Candidates have to register themselves online for the computer-based entrance test. The two papers, based on a predefined JEE Advanced syllabus released by the conducting authorities, are mandatory for all the aspirants.

Admissions to the IITs will be done through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling based on ranks obtained by candidates in JEE Advanced. The top 2.5 lakh qualified candidates of JEE Main 2022 will only be allowed to apply for JEE Advanced for admission to the IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology) in India. However, the total number of candidates may be a bit higher than 2.5 because of 'tied' ranks/scores in each category.

Focus on concepts rather than writing answers by mugging up. Start practicing mock questions, previous year questions, and then your conceptual and practical knowledge will be up to the mark for JEE.
