Electronic Control System Engineering is a specialized discipline of engineering which deals with the impact of electrons, needed to make equipments, devices, and systems. It utilises automatic control theory to design systems which yield desired behaviours in controlled environments. The job of the Electronic Controlled System Engineers is to resolve various issues related to digital control systems. These engineers are capable of analyzing, designing, and optimizing complex systems in order to receive the desired effect within a controlled environment. Hence, the Electronics Controlled System Engineering can be described as an amalgamation of coordination of mechanical, electrical, chemical, metallurgical, electronic or pneumatic elements.

Electronics Control System Engineering Course

There are a handful of colleges that conduct undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Electronic Control System Engineering. The undergraduate course is for 4 years while the postgraduate programme is for 2 years. Like, other engineering courses, the undergraduate programme can be pursued after completing 10+2 Board examination and the postgraduate programme can be pursued after completing the undergraduate programme. Here, we have prepared a table to give you a glimpse into the courses of Electronics Control System:

Eligibility Criteria to Pursue Electronics Control System Engineering

The candidates who wish to pursue undergraduate course in Electronics Control System Engineering would require to fulfill certain criteria to be eligible for the course. To pursue undergraduate course they would have to sit for the entrance tests like JEE Main or the other state level Entrance tests. Besides, they should have completed 10+2 Board examination along with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects. Those who have appeared for their Class XII Board examination are also eligible to appear for the entrance test.

To pursue the postgraduate course in Electronics Control System Engineering, the candidates would need to sit for GATE and to complete the undergraduate programme in the same discipline or in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electrical and Communication Engineering, and Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering. Those who are in the final semester of their undergraduate programme are also eligible to write the examination.

Here we have prepared a table to let you know about the eligibility criteria to study Electronics Control System Engineering.

Name of the Courses

Required Qualification

Minimum Marks Required

B. Tech

Passed or appeared 10+2 Board Examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects

Minimum 55% marks in the aggregate for the general candidates and minimum 50% marks in aggregate for the reserved category candidates and a good score in the Entrance Test in JEE Main or other states like KIITJEE, MHT-CET, AP or TS EAMCET etc.

M. Tech

Passed or in the final Semester of B. Tech programme, namely Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electrical and Communication Engineering, and Electrical and Instrumentation etc.

60% marks in the aggregate and good score in GATE

Electronics Control System Engineering Course Structure and Fees

We have already discussed that the duration of B. Tech course is of 4 years and that of M. Tech course is of 2 years. An academic year comprises of two semesters; odd and even. The odd semesters usually begin in July/ August and the even semesters begin in January/ February. An examination is held at the end of each semester.

The fee for the undergraduate courses varies from college to college. However, to pursue the B. Tech programme in Electronics Control System Engineering the candidates would have to pay a fee as low as Rs. 14,000 in a year and as high as Rs. 3 lakhs in a year.
