AILET 2022 Exam - NLU Delhi will conduct the AILET 2022 exam on May 1, 2022 (10 am - 11.30 am). Scores of the exam will be used for admission to 5-year integrated BA LLB, one-year LLM, and PhD programs. AILET 2022 will be of 1 hour 30 minutes duration, be conducted in pen-and-paper mode, and include multiple-choice questions. Candidates may note that the AILET 2022 syllabi for the BA LLB and LLM programs have been modified. The BA LLB question paper will now have THREE sections (and not five). Weightage, tie-breaker rule also updated.

The AILET 2022 application form has OPENED on January 17; the last date to submit completed applications is April 7.  Candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria can fill the application form in online mode following the link given on this page. The application fee for the exam is Rs. 3,050 (General). Candidates who successfully application process will be issued AILET 2022 admit cards on April 21, 2022.

What is AILET?

All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is conducted by National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi) for admission undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) and doctorate (PhD) level law courses. This is a national-level entrance exam conducted for admission in law programmes at NLU Delhi only. The university does not accept any other law entrance exam for NLU Delhi admissions.

  • 10+2 or equivalent examination with minimum 45% aggregate marks (40% in case of SC/ST/Persons with Disabilities)
  • Candidates appearing for their 10+2 exam may also apply

  • Candidates appearing for their final year LLB examination are also eligible to apply

AILET Syllabus & Exam Pattern 2022 (Modified)

The exam pattern and syllabus of AILET 2022 have been modified for the BA LLB and LLM programs. The AILET question paper for BA LLB (Hons) will now have three sections; the Mathematics and Legal Reasoning sections have been dropped. The section-weightage has also changed and now the Logical Reasoning section (70 marks) will carry the maximum weightage, followed by the English Language (50 marks) and Current Affairs & GL section (30 marks).

The BA LLB will include a total of 150 multiple-choice questions (each of 1 mark). Candidates need to follow the updated AILET syllabus 2022 to prepare for the exam.

AILET Admission Process 2022

The admission process of NLU Delhi through AILET exam includes the following steps:

Step 1: Online Registration

Candidates need to register online on the official website of NLU Delhi - and fill all the required details in the application form, upload prescribed documents and pay exam fee. The application form for AILET can be submitted in online mode only.  

Step 2: AILET Admit Card

NLU Delhi issues admit cards to candidates who successfully register for the exam. Candidates have to carry the AILET admit card on exam day. Any candidate carrying the admit card is not allowed to appear for the exam. 

Step 3: AILET Exam

Candidates have to appear for AILET at the allotted test centre as mentioned on the admit card. They should report at the test centres at least an hour before the examination. 

Step 4: Result Declaration

NLU Delhi usually announces AILET results within a month after conducting the examination. The scorecards of candidates qualifying the examination mention their All India Ranks (AIRs), sectional scores as well as overall scores. 

Step 5: Counselling

The university conducts AILET counselling on the basis of the rank list released at the time of result. In the counselling session, qualifying candidates are allotted seats in their respective law courses based on merit. 

AILET Result 2022

AILET result is usually announced within a month of conducting the law entrance exam. Candidates can check the AILET 2022 result on the official website of the exam by using their login credentials. It may be noted that NLU Delhi will release separate AILET merit lists for each category. 

AILET Counselling 

Candidates whose names appear in the merit list need to participate in AILET 2022 counselling. In the AILET counselling round, candidates will be allotted seats in their respective courses based on merit.

AILET Exam Day Guidelines

On the day of the exam, it is important for candidates to adhere to some guidelines so that they do not have to go through any hassle at the last minute. Check out some important AILET 2022 exam day guidelines below.

Important AILET documents & items

Candidates must ensure that they are carrying the below-mentioned documents and things to the allotted AILET exam centre:

  • Admit card
  • Valid and original photo ID proof such as PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Driving Licence, Passport, etc. 
  • Passport-size photo (preferably the one used in AILET application form)
  • Black/blue ball point pen
  • Hand sanitiser
  • Transparent water bottle
  • Face mask

While it is important to carry the aforementioned documents and items, candidates must also keep in mind not to carry the below-mentioned things inside the test centre:

  • Books or any other study material
  • Any electronic device such as calculator or smart watch
  • Any eatable 

Reporting time

Candidates must reach the allotted AILET centre at least one hour before the commencement of the exam. While at the centre, candidates must follow all social distancing guidelines and also adhere to what the exam centre authorities instruct.

AILET Exam Analysis

AILET 2022 exam is yet to be held. The AILET 2021 exam was held on July 30 from 2:00-3:30 PM. Majority of the candidates found the AILET 2022 exam easier as compared to previous years' exams.
